How will you know if a member has enabled this feature? Look for the "Call me at Ccube" button.

To launch this feature, CCube offers a free, 60-minutes-a-month pricing option. $7.00 gets users 250 minutes a month, and $20.00 allows for 1,000 minutes a month.

I think there will be some takers for this service, but the real issue will be to break the IM and texting model in which so many members of this universe are tethered to.

  • Won't take off

if i want to talk to someone, i'll use my cell phone not myspace. quite frankly, except in a few circumstances, i've yet to see the real benefit of pc-based voice communications because by the time you've spent the time to set up the software and have endured using affordable (and consequently substandard) speakers and microphones/headsets, you might as well have pulled out your phone and called that way. plus with phones of any kind, you don't have to worry about whether or not you CAN talk to someone, which is a frequent issue i have as a Linux user.

  • What about Skype?

Why would people use this over something like Skype, which is 100% free for IP based calls? doesn't make sense to use this paid service. Now, if the minutes are worldwide, that's a different story.
