Google offers up an Android Phone Gallery

By | September 30, 2010, 7:22pm PDT

Summary: Looking for an Android-powered phone? Check out Google’s new Android Phone Gallery

People always ask me for a recommendation of which phone they should buy. The first question I ask them is which phone they were thinking of. Lately, when someone says “Droid” they really mean an Android-powered phone. Then we start going through the process of figuring out which carrier is best, etc..

As luck would have it, the folks at Google have just made my life easier with the Google Phone Directory.

The Google Phone Directory features a showcase of Android-powered phones and the ability for you to filter the phones by country, manufacturer, carrier, and compare them by features, technical specs, and more. It’s really the best place to start and finish, when you’re thinking about buying an Android-powered phone.

This Google Phone Gallery is not up-to-date. I selected Samsung and Verizon, and it couldn't find the Fascinate which has been out for a few weeks.

The life-span of mobile devices is very short due to the tremendous advancement on mobile technology. If your information is not up-to-date, nobody will use it.

I cannot believe Google fails to keep up with the toys in their own playground.
