T-Mobile Dash prizeYou are all probably getting a bit sick of me talking about the T-Mobile Dash, but I just had to let you know about one more thing. I received an email from a person named Solomon this morning on my Dash while traveling out in D.C. for business. The email was a bit cryptic though since it didn't seem to have any attachments or links he was referring too, but it seemed that he was implying I had won a T-Mobile Dash in the Dash-a-Day Giveaway. When I got back to my hotel room I checked my Gmail spam folder and lo and behold I did win a Dash in the contest and can now share my Dash love with my wife. The prize also includes 3 free months of T-Mobile so even if you are not a current T-Mobile customer you can enter the contest and get a chance to use the Dash for a few months. I highly encourage you to enter the contest as T-Mobile is giving away one T-Mobile Dash a day until December 25th. I entered just about every day for the last two weeks or so and it paid off.

  • Just another QWERTY phone

Useless to anyone who needs to use it while driving and can't spare the hands to hold it, the stylus for the keyboard, and the eyesight to pick out the letters.

I wonder if anyone will ever rediscover the fact that touch screens don't require keyboards?

    • There is no touchscreen on the Dash

The T-Mobile Dash is a Windows Mobile Smartphone and thus does not have a touchscreen or stylus. You really shouldn't be trying to enter text while driving, but if you try with the Dash you will find that you actually can type with a single hand as the device is quite thin and you can move your thumb back and forth all with a single hand.

The Cingular Samsung BlackJack, Motorola Q, T-Mobile Dash, and Nokia E61/E62 are all QWERTY devices without touchscreens. These QWERTY keyboards make a world of difference on Smartphones since text input is much faster than T9 on a phone keypad.
