WidSetsI received a press release last night from Nokia announcing the launch of a cool new RSS feed aggregator called WidSets. Widsets is a Web 2.0 service that runs on Java-enabled mobile phones, not just Nokia devices. I tried to install it on the Samsung SGH-i320 I am testing out, but that device doesn't have a Java client preinstalled so it wouldn't work out of the box on it. I then popped my SIM back into my trusty Nokia E61 and was up and running in a couple of minutes. I even created a WidSet for this Mobile Gadgeteer blog so you can pick this WidSet after you sign up for a free account.

The interface is quite cool as you can setup your WidSets on your PC and move the content blocks around to your own preferences. I don't have a dedicated RSS aggregator and generally use Bloglines, but this is a fun way to read my feeds and get alerted when new content is posted. There doesn't seem to be a simple way to import an OPML file though so you'll have to pick or create WidSets for your feeds. There is a large content library to choose from and you can also crate custom Widsets that you can share or keep to yourself. The settings even allow you to set alerts for when new content is posted in each of your WidSets. Check out the press release for more details and go sign up and setup your device with WidSets today.
