Leaks have been all over the internet, but Palm has now officially announced the Palm Treo 500v smartphone for Europe. You can check out the European Treo 500v site for more details on this new Windows Mobile 6 Standard (Smartphone) device. It will be available from Vodafone in October for an undisclosed price.

The device actually looks a bit better after browsing through all the views and it reminds me a bit of the T-Mobile Dash. Specs include a 3G radio, tri-band GSM (no 850 MHz band), Bluetooth 2.0, full QWERTY keyboard, 2 megapixel camera, microSD expansion slot, 320x240 display, and 150MB available user memory. The device comes in gray or white too. There is no WiFi support so this is more of an entry to mid level Palm smartphone. I think we'll see news of a device with this form factor in the U.S. soon too.
