Droid Charge: Newest member of Verizon 4G LTE stable of phones

Today the UPS guy dropped off the latest phone in the Verizon Droid line of Android handsets-- the Droid Charge. The Charge is the first phone made by Samsung bearing the Droid moniker, and has a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus screen that may be the best I've ever seen on a phone. That includes the famous Retina Display on the iPhone 4.

Unfortunately the Verizon 4G (LTE) network is in the middle of a nationwide outage, so I haven't been able to do much with the Droid Charge due to a lack of connectivity. These brief observations will have to tide you over for now, along with a tour of the Charge presented in photos. The photos include some shots showing the Charge side-by-side with the other Verizon 4G phone, the HTC Thunderbolt.

LTE aside, how is the phone? Should this be on my list for an upgrade?

@jahmekan The phone so far is pretty sweet, but I can't get any data connectivity at all right now which limits how I can test it. I'm also concerned about battery life using 4G and need to test that too. Bad timing on Verizon to go down today. :)

Wait a month for the price to drop significantly. Not very future proof for gamers as it has a chip that came out last August.

Any word if this phone has the same SD card and freezing/restart issues as the other Android phones seem to be having?
