Big Red has been testing the smartphone waters for a long time but is finally ready to swim in the Windows Phone 7 pool with the introduction of the HTC Trophy. The Trophy is a smartphone with a 3.8-inch display powered by a Snapdragon 1 GHz processor.

HTC Trophy features:

  • 1 GHz Snapdragon® processor
  • WVGA 3.8-inch touchscreen
  • Surround sound through SRS WOW HD™
  • 5-megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash
  • 720p HD video capture
  • 16 GB on-board storage
  • Wi-Fi connectivity: 802.11 b/g/n
  • Global ready - allowing customers to enjoy wireless voice and data service in more than 200 countries, with more than 125 with 3G speeds
  • HTC Hub-customization through downloadable applications that offer even more entertainment and productivity
  • View and edit Microsoft Office® documents, including Excel®, Word® and PowerPoint® with the Office Hub and data access on SharePoint® servers

The phone will be available from Verizon online on May 26 for $149.99 after a $50 debit card rebate. The Trophy will be in stores on June 2 for the same price, and requires a monthly smartphone data plan from Verizon.

      And it will be for a [b]long[/b] time. It is selling better than Android did 6.5 months after its release.

        I want to believe you, I have no reason to doubt you except that to the best of my knowledge MS wont release sales figures.

        I have the Dell Venue Pro - LOOOOOOOVE IT!

        I hope that MS will finally allow access to sockets for programmers (clearly I am not a mobile programmer) for support of VoIP and other services like WebEX.

        But despite some limitations from MS, not the device's capabilities which are stunning), it is an awesome platform.

        I hope sales will pickup with Verizon. I have not spoken to, read a blog from or comments from any WP7 users who did not thoroughly like the device.
