RedMonk founder/analyst James Governor says IBM's componentized software portfolio strategy is giving Big Blue a way to "decompose" Lotus Notes, making it easier to add features like blogging into its Workplace collaboration toolset. With a clearer product roadmap, Governor argues that IBM's "evolutionary" approach, although slow, is a step ahead of Microsoft's.
