PubCon Las Vegas 2010 Search and Social Media Conference: I’ll Be There

By | October 18, 2010, 10:27am PDT

Summary: From November 8-11, PubCon 2010 will be taking place in Las Vegas, Nevada. Yours truly will be there to cover the event and give you the absolute latest from the leaders and think-tanks within the search and social media space. Set your calendars and stay tuned!

In my humble opinion, part of being a guide in any given industry requires one to keep abreast of the very latest advancements, standards, processes, and professional opinions within that industry. Since I feel that I fall into the category of being a guide (in stark contrast to “guru” or any other type of self-serving misnomer) in the SEO (Search Engine Optimization) industry, I’m going to hold true to my opinion and fly out to Las Vegas to be one of the many in attendance for PubCon Las Vegas 2010 which takes place from November 8-11.

Tough job flying out to Vegas and all to keep the masses informed, right? ;)

If you are unfamiliar with PubCon, it is one of the most prestigious search and social media conferences around. The conference is typically comprised of just about any and every big name in the search and social media space at any given time (some names you may know are Matt Cutts (Google), Rand Fishkin (SEOmoz), Wil Reynolds (SEER Interactive), and Brian Clark (Copyblogger)) . Most of them give speeches and sessions while the remainder are on-hand to take part in hearing from — and participating with — their colleagues throughout the industry. If you would like to read more about PubCon, can visit their “About PubCon Las Vegas 2010” page.

To note, more than just attending, I will actually be covering the event right here on ZDNet. I am still in the process of working out exactly how I want to go about covering the event outside of posting here (i.e. live blogging, tweeting, etc.), but I will be sure to inform all of you of those plans a few days prior to flying out to the event (most likely via an update to this post). In the mean time, if you have any suggestions for any given type of coverage you would like to see, I’m certainly open to them! Naturally, I cannot guarantee that I will use any given type of recommended medium for coverage, but that shouldn’t discourage you from adding your two cents. At the very least, just make sure you have me added to Twitter and Facebook (found below via the images under my signature) so that you can catch when I update the blog here.

More on all of this very soon!
