Eric Courville, Founder and COO of VM6 spent some time introducing me to VMex 2.1 , a tool to help mid-market companies deploy virtualized environments. We both agreed that deploying virtual desktops, virtual servers, orchestration and automation software, virtual storage software and management software for virtualized environments can be quite daunting for mid-market companies. They want the benefits a consolidated, optimized environment but often don’t have and don’t want to hire staff having the necessary expertise.

Snapshot Analysis

VM6 spent a good deal of time to learn what these companies need and then designed VMmex. It appears that the focus on making complex virtual environments simple and easy to manage while has resulted in a successful product. If VM6 can get decision-makers’ attention, they have a good story to tell.

That being said, it is likely to be difficult for a company, such as VM6, to cut through the noise being made by Microsoft (a VM6 partner), VMware and others, all of whom believe that they have the perfect virtualization solution for the mid-market.

To call this a snapshot analysis was a bit optimistic. This article has pretty much said nothing informative.
The header said VM6 but there was no information on elements that increased palatibility to mid sized companies.

ZDNET, you need to moderate your own contributers. This is the second lazy amateurish review I've seen in a week.
