Welcome to the Web 2.0 frontier

Introducing Web 2.0 Explorer, my new ZDNet blog about the Wild Wild Web 2.0. Some of you may know me from my personal blog, Read/Write Web, which is also focused on the Web as Platform. I'll continue to post on this fascinating topic in both places, but each blog will have its own unique approach and personality. The byline for Web 2.0 Explorer is Tales from the Web 2.0 frontier and it was chosen because of its Wild Wild West connotations. The Web of 2005 is a fertile land for development - and it's in the midst of being colonized by the new 'settlers' of the blogosphere and beyond. So now it's time for me to saddle up, don my cowboy hat, and go yawping across the new frontier. Here's what you can expect from me on Web 2.0 Explorer over the coming months:

I was looking around for an appropriate quote to finish this introductory post with - a John Wayne one perhaps. But in the end this quote from Paul Harris seems the most appropriate, in the context of Web 2.0: "The lawlessness of frontier life in America has been pictured as a remarkable phenomenon. In reality, it was the natural consequence of indiscriminate mixing of volatile substances."
