The 2010 edition of the annual Consumer Electronics Show got off to a quiet start on Wednesday, somewhat overshadowed by the much anticipated launch of Google's Nexus phone the day before.

The show kicked off with a keynote speech from Microsoft's Steve Ballmer, in which he demonstrated small 'Slate' tablet PCs running Windows 7. In addition, Freescale is expected to show off its new reference design for low-cost tablet PCs later in the week.

More product launches and feature announcements are expected as the conference rumbles on. Check here to see all the coverage.
