Hands-on with the T-Mobile HTC One KitKat and Sense 5.5 update (gallery)

Summary: HTC's KitKit and Sense 5.5 update for all major US carrier models is now past certification and approved. T-Mobile's OTA update hit yesterday and I am loving the experience so far.

  • App Ops status?

I've been looking forward to this. Improvements look and sound actually useful. Did this update break App Ops for you? I've read that it will/might/may and I'm reluctant to lose this ability to limit app permissions.

    • More info

I have also seen info that App Ops can be made to work on 4.4:

What I'm really hoping to learn is that this actually works on a T-Mobile HTC One before making the update jump myself.

    • Why such an intricate web?

Why do your work at home spams need such convoluted relationship tiers? "My neighbor's sister-in-law"? Really? Why can't the fictitious person in your spam just flat out be either your neighbor or YOUR sister-in-law? Amazing....

  • Was it pulled?

I checked yesterday and there was an update available. This morning I was reminded there was an update available. When I went to update I no longer see an update available.
