LG Optimus 2X adds dual-core processor

Summary: The manufacturer has previewed its Optimus 2X mobile, which it says is the first smartphone to be equipped with a dual-core processor

    The phone has a 4-inch screen, offers 1080p HD video playback and recording, and can output video wirelessly to an HD display or other DNLA-compatible kit via HMDI mirroring.

    The handset will initially be released with version 2.2 of Google's Android operating system, known as Froyo, but can be upgraded to Android 2.3, named Gingerbread.

    The smartphone also includes both an 8-megapixel rear camera and 1.3-megapixel front camera, 8GB memory upgradable to 32GB via microSD, and a 1500mAh battery.
