Microsoft published to its download center on September 13 software licensing terms of use for Dynamics NAV 2015 for Android tablets, iPads and "Modern" Windows. It also quietly made available in the iTunesGoogle Play and Windows Stores versions of the Dynamics NAV ERP apps, as first noted by MSDynamicsWorld.com.

Dynamics NAV, one of Microsoft's four ERP apps, is aimed largely at small business users.

The new Dynamics NAV client apps are free, but require Microsoft's Dynamics NAV ERP on the back end. Different sets of features are supported in the clients depending on which version of the Dynamics NAV server apps they use.

As the MSDynamicsWorld.com site noted earlier this summer, Microsoft is aiming to deliver its latest major release of Dynamics NAV before the end of this year. The Dynamics NAV 2015 release is codenamed "Crete."

At Microsoft's Worldwide Partner Conference in July, Microsoft officials outlined some of the features coming for NAV 2015, including Office 365 list integration, document reporting, Power BI functionality and cross-device support

Microsoft's Dynamics CRM team has been at the forefront of developing a Windows 8/Modern/Metro-Style version of its client application. It also has released iOS and Android tablet versions of Dynamics CRM client apps.

The Dynamics AX team also introduced earlier this year a touch-first Modern/Metro-Style shop-floor control app for Windows 8. The AX team also previously launched a Business Analyzer client app for Windows 8 and a time and expense app for Windows 8, iOS and Android.
