Those with Android Wear-compatible smartwatches will be able to record notes using OneNote by saying "OK Google, take a note," Microsoft officials announced in a September 16 blog post.

OneNote for Android Wear is available for download from the Google Play store. It requires an Android phone running Android 4.3 or higher, compatible with Android Wear, and an Android Wear watch.

Microsoft has not yet announced plans for a version of OneNote for the just-announced Apple Watch. Microsoft also still hasn't launched a watch or fitness band of its own, though some are expecting the Redmondians to announce a fitness-band type device before this year is over.

In other OneNote-related announcements, Microsoft also has plans for new OneNote for iOS 8 functionality. OneNote users with iPhones or iPads running iOS 8, starting later today, will be able to clip from the web, save photos and send file attachments straight to OneNote without having to leave their current apps using the new OneNote Share extension update for iPads and iPhones.

Microsoft also is adding new functionality to its Office Lens app for Windows Phone for capturing whiteboard notes and paper documents and saving them in OneNote. With today's update, Office Lens users can now convert pictures of whiteboard notes and paper documents directly into Word and PowerPoint documents that users can edit.
