Ballmer: Windows 7 sales on a roll
Summary
Topics
"We've already sold twice as many units as any OS in a comparable time frame," Ballmer said. "Windows 7 is simply the best PC operating system that we or anyone else has ever built."
By last week, Windows 7 accounted for four percent of web-accessing devices, according to Net Applications; it took Vista more than seven months to reach that level.

Yes
but you do realize that this describes both pro-MS and anti-MS comments, right?
Viva la crank dodo20th Nov 2009 -
Agreed
itguy08, Economister, Loverock are allready in attendance, and I am actually surprised that fr0thy2 has not stopped by yet to start calling everyone an idiot (or whatever).
GuidingLight20th Nov 2009 -
BallSack is a Moron
Plain and Simple.
I'm sure Win7 sales are decent. After all, it's hard to get an OS-less computer.....
itguy0820th Nov 2009 -
It is easy enough to get linux
pre-installed.
Or buy a Mac
However, it seems people are making a choice. And that choice is Windows 7
Plain and Simple
mdemuth20th Nov 2009 -
Windows comes pre-installed.
That's no choice.
CounterEthicsCommissioner-2303463649273833746910586079096320th Nov 2009 -
That is incorrect
he pointed out that you can order systems pre-installed with Linux, if you so choose.
If the manufacturer finds that certain systems are not selling with Linux, then they will install the operating system that does sell on that particular machine.
GuidingLight20th Nov 2009 -
Linux isn't the first choice that comes into their minds
If the manufacturer finds that certain systems are not selling with Linux, then they will install the operating system that does sell on that particular machine.
That's assuming they look at Linux first. They don't, therefore Windoze is installed by default.
Not to mention a history of pressure and shady agreements between M$ and the OEMs

Fear of Linux
I think most consumers are not aware they even have a choice. And you certainly can't choose a different OS when you pick out your PC at Best Buy...

Lies and more lies
This abomination comes pre-installed, just more
FUD from a 'point & click' Windows paid cheerleader.

System with Windows not Installed

Or if you want a mainstream manufacturer:

No More excuses for not buying Windows 7
nucrash20th Nov 2009 -
Yeah, except...
...the fact is that consumers want Windows.
It would be tantamount to buying a Mac without Mac OS.
I cannot wait for the next challenge for Linux fanboys to face, Chrome. It certainly won't be a threat to Windows, but it should stir debate as to with is better, Chrome or Linux.
Delicious!
