Twitter, LinkedIn announce tie-up
Summary
Topics
"The business-use case of Twitter is turning out to be very important, and more and more people are finding that the persona they create for themselves on the web is part of their resume in many ways," Twitter co-founder Biz Stone said in a joint video with LinkedIn founder Reid Hoffman, which was posted to the LinkedIn blog.
In short, LinkedIn's 'status' feature now syncs with Twitter with an optional check box, a feature that the two companies say should be rolling out over the next few days. Likewise, users can set their Twitter status as their LinkedIn status by using the hash tag #li or #in.

Uhh No Thanks,
I have a LinkedIn account that I will dump if I have to be subject to any of my contacts twitter updates. Is it me or is social networking becoming too entangled with Business? I am too afraid to post anything to either Twitter or Facebook these days with companies scouring these sites to spy on current / potential employees, geesh!

Twitter me unimpressed
I'm guessing there's a certain group that is excited over connecting more systems together. I would suggest that we just say no to tweets. IMHO it devalues the Linked-In proposition as I understand it, which is a professional alternative to social networking. I don't see Twitter as a professional service as much as a social diversion.
I suppose my view is dated, but I know that I am far from alone. We can't all keep up.

RE: Twitter, LinkedIn announce tie-up
This devalues Linked-In. What's happening is that LinkedIn -- a professional and serious site, is about to be cheapened by the vain, self-important people on Twitter.
Twitter shows if someone's standing in line at Wal-Mart. LinkedIn shows is someone is making moves in the business world.
They are not the same.
