  • Dashboard and its widgets appear at the touch of a hot key. Other widgets can be launched from the bottom of the screen.

  • Probably the key feature of Tiger is its capability to search a hard drive from the desktop--something Windows can't do. To begin a search, simply click on the Spotlight icon in the upper right corner.

  • Apple's upgraded Safari browser features an RSS reader that can be activated from the address bar. A search box and the article length are displayed in the upper right of the browser window.
