There are many of us who want to stick with our wireless carrier, yet still would like to experience the latest Apple touchscreen device. Thankfully, Apple launched the iPod touch in three different capacities and it provides consumers with the high resolution retina display, A4 processor, iOS 4.1, and HD video camera.

If anyone thought they could take it out of the box, charge it up, turn it on and check it out - they are in for a big surprise.

Unlike the previous generation units, you MUST FIRST connect via the internet to Apple via iTunes version 10 or later. If you only have a Mac, it must also be running OS X 10.5.x or later.

You WILL NOT BE ABLE to do anything else with this brand new shiny device, apart from charging the battery until it has called in through iTunes.

Once that is done, you can disconnect it from the internet and then you can start playing with it.
