    Apple on Tuesday released the 13-inch widescreen MacBook, the newest member of Apple's Intel-based laptop family.

    A MacBook with a 1.83GHz Intel Core Duo processor, 60GB hard drive and white case starts at $1,099, while a midrange model, also cased in white, comes with a 2.0GHz Intel Core Duo processor and a 60GB hard drive for $1,299. The most expensive version, shown here, has a 2.0GHz Intel Core Duo processor and a 80GB hard drive for $1,499. It is available in black only.

  • 13-inch MacBook

    The 13-inch MacBook boasts a slim design--about an inch thick. The $1,499 version comes in black only, the $1,099 and $1,299 versions in white.

  • iSight

    The 13-inch MacBook features an iSight camera located on the top of the display. The camera is handy for face-to-face chats or for taking an occasional self-portrait.
