  i still don't see any way of accessing other ereader sites were i have a ton of other books so i can cosolidate all of them

    @fpspero Same issue, I have a Kindle. Until I can transfer ebooks I'm stuck. I would love a touch enabled e-ink screen. The Kindle keyboard and nav buttons leave a lot to be desired along with the lack of an SD slot. I do love this type of screen. The device fades and I feel like I'm reading an actual book. Just much lighter when I'm reading some of the heftier tech volumes. It beats carrying a 600 page monster around! :o)

  I want to read books not fritter away my time with "twitter" ...they should do away with the social network crap and leave with what it is, an ebook reader!

• I still don't care.

  Until I can legally transfer books that I pay for, just like I do with real book, I'm not going to bother, unless the prices on the e-books drop dramatically compared to the price of real books. Right now I can go to a garage sale and easily by books for $1 or less. And, many of the books stores offer coupons that allow me to buy their real books for less than I would pay for an e-book.
  
  At least they seem to have finally started to implement
  ways to loan e-books.

    And what sort of books can you "by' for only $1? Do you have any idea what that says about your reading tastes? Especially since you don't know the difference between 'by' and 'buy'?

    I agree, I don't want to buy and get locked in to one device either. But I recently got a Nook because there are lots of e-books available to borrow from my local library and they work great on the Nook.

  The ePublishing industry MUST compromise on ONE format - be it PDF, or ePUB, or mobi, or whatever - and issue ALL eBooks IN THAT FORMAT! This proprietary format GARBAGE, so sadly reminiscent of the beta/VHS wars of the 80's, must come to a screeching halt, or the eBook will die an agonized death; it very nearly did a few years ago, when NuvoMedia had the Rocket eBook out on the market. An excellent early system, but the proprietary format killed it. Now Amazon and Barnes & Noble are about to do the same thing.
  Hey BEZOS - wake up and smell the coffee...and NOT Starbucks, not Donna's; try plain old Folgers or Maxwell House for a change.

  I rooted my Nook Color over to a straight Android 2.2 build. It allows me to use Kindle, Nook and Google book readers on the same platform and to buy from the cheapest book store. It was pretty simple to do, and now it also does mail, Facebook, twitter, and web browsing and is pretty useful.

  The same reasons I am happy with my Sony PRS 650, just a great reading experience without any stuff around it, not even color. Battery life is great too, wouldn't know what to do without it.

  We have an "expert's review" from a blogger who can't even construct a correct sentence.<br><br>Nook11.jpg<br><i>"There five controls pop up when you tap the middle of the display while reading."</i><br><br>Ya know.. at some point ZDnet... your readers are going to start questioning (LOL, if we haven't already)... <i>if these guys can't even figure out how to use spell/grammar check, why are we considering what they have to say about technology products???</i>

  haven't bought one yet...my main use tho would be to download PDF files from computer and make them mobile to read on subway/at work, but haven't seen much write up about PDF functionality
