  • One step further

I managed to go up to a full run of the Ubuntu 6.10. LiveCD till the desktop showed off. For that one needs to select the "Safe Graphics Mode" installation option (see the before last image of the article series for the right choice). However after the desktop appeared VirtualPC was unable to capture the mouse clicks and movements within Ubuntu. So, "No way dude!"

There is a fix for the mouse issue, go to: http://www.woodwardweb.com/programming/000387.html, this guy did a great write up on setting up Ubuntu. Its horribly slow to install but once installed it runs great.
