Voyager's past and new life in space

This Voyager 1 photo from 1980 showed the fuzzy layer of atmosphere on Saturn's moon, Titan. The Titan findings of the Voyagers helped draw enough interest to send the Cassini spacecraft to Saturn and land a probe on Titan. Cassini is still orbiting Saturn and returning images.

    It's quite amazing how long they've kept these things going long past their intended lifetimes. And totally remote controlled too - can't send anybody out there to fix them!

  • Built Like a Voyager

    Theses amazing devices have proved to be such good value for mankind's money that I think a new category of spacecrafts, and why not, some Earthling equipment too - should be built not only "like a tank" but actually "like a Voyager": made not only to last a very long time but also to outlive their developers' most optimistic expectations for use.
