Red Hat Software Collection lets developers and operators get leading edge tools, while keeping the server operating system stable.

RHSC is released on a faster cadence than Red Hat's operating systems. That way, programmers working on production systems running Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7 or 6.5, can still use the most up-to-date programming tools.

In this latest developer toolkit you'll find:

Red Hat Developer Toolset 3.0, which brings the Eclipse IDE to RHEL 7. It gives C and C++ developers the ability to compile once and deploy to multiple versions of RHEL. For example, with this Toolset you will be able to compile programs on RHEL 6.x that will run on both RHEL 6 and 7. It also includes GCC 4.9, ltrace 0.7.91, and a number of additional minor bug fixes and feature enhancements.

DevAssistant 0.9.1 is a tool for setting up development environments, publishing code, and completing other associated tasks; DevAssistant comes with both an intuitive GUI and CLI.

Maven 3.0 is an Apache build automation tool for Java projects that describes how software is built and the associated dependencies.

Git 1.9.4,, the popular distributed version control system can be downloaded by itself with without installing Red Hat Developer Toolset.

RHSC also includes the latest stable versions of popular dynamic languages such as Ruby with Rails, Python, PHP, and Perl. It also includes a Technology Preview of Node.js, which works with Chrome's JavaScript runtime.

RHSC also has new programs for operators as well as developers. These include an updated release of the fast Nginx 1.6 Web server, as well as the latest stable versions of such popular open source databases, as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, and MongoDB.

Red Hat Software Collections 1.2 Beta is available now for customers and partners with active RHEL subscriptions.
