SAP is banking on the cloud to speed up big data analytics even faster with the debut of its new HANA Enterprise Cloud services.
Touted to offer "elastic petabyte scale," the SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud is a managed deployment option for SAP's Business Suite of management apps, powered by the HANA in-memory database and the NetWeaver BW applications server.
The goal is to offer another channel for trying to extract immediate business information (and value) from SAP's in-memory platform in real-time.
To get started, customers will need to have licenses for the aforementioned existing SAP services first. From there, there are a few steps
SAP will be responsible for assessing a company's existing infrastructure for data and applications before moving anything to the Enterprise Cloud.
After the minimum qualifications have been deemed met, SAP will provide onboarding and migration services.
Access to the HANA Enterprise Cloud service is charged through a monthly subscription that varies based on a company's size, scale of data and applications.
SAP has been busy upgrading its portfolio lately. Last week, the German software company introduced a new set of online tools for the purpose of speeding up deployments by allowing companies to design systems collaboratively rather than as complete packages.
We cam expect plenty more news and product updates from SAP over the next week as Sapphire 2013 kicks off in Orlando on Monday.
