After a lengthy disruption to the rollout of KitKat to its flagship device, HTC has resumed pushing out the Android upgrade to European HTC One owners.

HTC had began delivering the firmware upgrade to HTC One customers in the UK earlier this month, but suspended the rollout after reports that customers had been experiencing difficulties with the software.

"We can confirm that the 4.4 KitKat update has now been re-released in the UK," HTC UK announced on its Facebook page.

The company began serving up Android 4.4.2 as an over the air update to some HTC One owners across the continent last week. The update that should arrive is version 4.19.401.11, and ships as a 308.24MB file.

Many HTC One owners in Europe have been waiting for the KitKat update since late February, when the company first announced the OS was on the way. While some UK-based One owners did receive KitKat in March, the short-lived rollout left many others still waiting for their OS update.

The version of KitKat now being rolled out by HTC in the UK brings with it new security tweaks, improvements to the cloud print service that came with KitKat, and additional support for Bluetooth media interactions. It also removes browser support for Flash Player.

The version of the update that's being delivered in other markets in Europe features different fixes, including one for a wi-fi issue that adds support for more routers, according to Droiders.eu. The software has the same version number but instead of a 308MB file, it clocks in at 205MB.

HTC's UK KitKat update status page for the HTC One indicates that the update is currently in the "push to customer" phase of its rollout to devices on the Vodafone, O2 and Three networks, while it is still at "integration" for EE.

Other devices that HTC have said will get KitKat eventually are the HTC One mini and HTC One Max.
