Skype users who want to call their friends or work colleagues from their Windows Phone using their data allocation can now rejoice, as the Skype app for Windows Phone has now come out of beta and is available at the Windows Marketplace. Pocket

    Price: Free
    Platform: iOS, Android

Remember Read It Later, the app designed to save online stories for later offline reading? It's had an overhaul, and has been rebranded to boot. Now known as Pocket, the app has lost its $2.99 price tag, and is a lot nicer to use. The interface has been simplified and redesigned. It's faster, and it includes features such as an automatic content filter that separates videos, articles and images, and a new organisation strategy that allows you to Favourite, Tag, Archive, Delete and Bulk Edit your articles.

  • I wonder if the Telstra app will be just as much a data hog on iOS as it is on Android.

It was one of my least used apps but was consistently the biggest data hog. I have now deleted it.
