Why should you have to sit around and wait for an email to arrive to find out what events are going on in the IT industry? (That is, of course, if you're even on the right mailing lists!) You shouldn't. That's why we've decided to launch the ZDNet Australia Events Calendar.
This handy site feature provides you with an easy-to-read guide to industry events — what they're about, and when and where they are on. Whether it's a Gartner briefing or an Australian Chamber of Commerce lunch, you can browse upcoming events, sort them by day and location or search for events by keyword.
Once you've found what you're looking for, you can check out the details of the event and save the date to Outlook or Google Calendar. You can even have us email you a reminder about the event.
And if you don't want to go to the event alone, you can tell your friends about it with our event email service. Alternatively, you can let the community know that you're attending by using the "I'm in" button. Your interest will be registered on the ZDNet Australia page for the event. (You do, however, still need to register with the event.)
During the conference or workshop, or afterward, you can leave comments on the event page, sharing what you thought of the proceedings.
We'll show you the events that have been added most recently to the calendar, and what events are most popular. If you don't want to miss a thing, make sure you sign up to our events newsletter, which we will be making available soon, via our membership pages.
Take a look at the calendar and tell us what you think in the comments section below. We'd love to hear your feedback — are there any additional features that you'd like to see?
