How do you prove your own open source chops? And if you're an employer, how do you know when someone has game?

Let's say you need some Java development. You have two programmer resumes before you, each claiming open source experience.

How do you choose between them?

One way is with SourceKibbizer, a site with origins in Russia which collects programming metrics from open source Java projects.

They learn about the quality of code, member activity, project size, and other inside information. They have also added a resume tool called SourceKibbizer Bio where programmers can post resumes and brag about their accomplishments.

Maybe you don't want to just look at those two resumes after all. Have you ever had a really good blintz?

But before we leave, a question. How do you prove your own open source chops? And if you're an employer, how do you know when someone has game?
