As of Friday afternoon, Orange's UK data network is totally inaccessible, according to a customer service agent at the carrier.

The network has been suffering data outages for around the last 24 hours according to the company official.

Customers on the network are consequently unable to use any services that require a data connection.

"We're having a bit of a nightmare at the minute, all our internet services are completely down for HTC, BlackBerry and iPhone handsets right now. We're not sure when they're going to be back up and running," the customer service rep said.

No technical details of the problem were given.

In August, the Orange network suffered similar outages across the UK.

Orange has been contacted for more details, stay tuned for an update.

Update: An Orange spokesperson got in touch to issue the following statement:

"We can confirm that some customers in some areas of London may be experiencing reduced data access. This is owing to a technical failure at our network centre in south London, engineers are on site and we are working closely with the third party involved to resolve this issue as a matter of priority."
