Although Intel didn’t divulge on any corporate structure changes during its quarterly earnings announcement on Thursday, news about a major reshuffling in Intel’s leadership got out on Friday.
Intel published the full rundown detailing the new pecking order at the top of Intel, and the major new appointment is the promotion of Brian Kraznich to chief operating officer.
Set to report to CEO Paul Otellini, Kraznich was previously Intel’s senior vice president of worldwide manufacturing. He will continue to oversee manufacturing, but Kraznich will also oversee internal IT and human resources.
Another senior executive getting promoted is Dadi Perlmutter, moving up from Intel’s architecture product portfolio group to chief product officer.
Intel vice president and chief information officer Diane Bryant succeed Kirk Skaugen as general manager of Intel’s data center business, while Kim Stevenson, vice president of IT Global Operations and Services, will succeed Diane Bryant as CIO.
These changes, among others, are coming about as Andy Bryant plans to transfer from his seat as vice chairman of the board to full-time executive chairman at the Intel’s Annual Stockholders’ Meeting this May.
These two promotions are intended to accommodate for Bryant’s prior responsibilities, and several executives that used to report to Bryant will now start reporting directly to Otellini.
The transfer of powers will take place and become effective within the next 30 days.
