The other day I had a chance to chat with Amir Husain, CTO of ClearCube, and Susannah Kirksey, VP of Marketing for ClearClube. They seem to have a clear vision of providing application virtualization across quite a number of important mobile and desktop operating systems. I'm not sure that I could do it justice in a small Blog post.

ClearCube sees that application virtualization and access virtualization are critical components of a global IT infrastructure that offers high performance, security and reliability while still helping organizations keep their administrative and software licensing costs in line. Their Sentral application virtualization and management environment just won the "Best Desktop Virtualization" award at VMWORLD 2007 over VMware's own entry. That's quite impressive.

ClearCube is building a framework that will move Sentral right into the intersection of several major trends including application virtualization, software as a service, and supporting intensely mobile staff members. The company has plans to deliver encapsulated Windows applications to a number of non-Windows devices.

If your organization is searching for a way to manage and deliver applications to Windows desktops and a host of different mobile devices, you may find ClearCube's current products and future roadmap compelling.

Odd that you would note Clearcube as a leader when the largest install the company has for software is less than 500 seats and they do not have single location using their total solution.

We looked at the Clearcube solution and VMware and were advised by VMware not to select the Clearcube solution. We were told that Clearcube had not followed the VMware process and had no certified hardware. Whe we asked about the award we were told that oviously VMware could not be selected as the winner at their own event and that the Clearcube solution was never tested by Tech Target or VMware.

The company has gone through 3 CEO's, a CFO, 3 VP's of Sales and most recently their VP of Field Operations and CMO....all of this in less than 18 months. The CEO has not been responsive and two of the references we were provided said they would not do business with the company again.

This is not a company I would give my business too, I value my career.

    • Leadership comes in a number of ways

Leadership is not always measured by the number of followers one has. One can be a industry leader in a number of ways:
      - revenues
      - shipments
      - number of customers
      - number of partners
      - number of platforms supported
      - vision behind technology
      - technology itself

It does not follow that a company is a technical leader or has an industry leading vision just because it has greater revenues or has shipped more units.

Thank you for your response. ClearCube has been developing centralized computing and PC Blade technologies for more than ten years. We are the established leader in this market, have a large installed based of many happy customers and are confident in our product strategy, vision and direction. Certainly like most companies, ClearCube has had its growing pains, so we are concerned to hear about your experience.

ClearCube and VMware are close partners, having announced a relationship earlier this year. ClearCube technology is VMware certified, with many potential joint deals in the pipeline.

We were first to market with both PC blade technology and the industry's first connection brokering software. We're excited to build on our early success with the continued evolution of our Sentral software, and our award at VMWORLD demonstrates that the industry recognizes its potential, too.

I offer my assistance to help resolve your issues. Unfortunately we were unable to find a customer or technical contact by the name you used in your posting. However, either I or any member of our executive staff would be happy to discuss this directly with you. Feel free to contact me at susannah.kirksey at clearcube.com.

      Best regards,
