UPDATED: Perhaps Deep Nishar will show up on the LinkedIn feed with a new job soon.

There's a new job opening at LinkedIn.

Deep Nishar, senior vice president of products and user experience at LinkedIn and a usual fixture at most LinkedIn announcements, announced his departure on Thursday.

In a short memo posted to his LinkedIn Influencer profile, Nishar said he will be stepping down from his executive role, effective this October.

Nevertheless, the split appears to be amicable as Nishar noted he will remain on with the Mountain View, Calif.-based business in "an advisory capacity" to CEO Jeff Weiner and others.

Nishar didn't provide specifics on where he'll be going next, except the cryptic conclusion, "More on that soon."

He also noted that he is "passionate about building and leading businesses and companies that have the potential to make a significant positive impact in the world" following his stints at LinkedIn and as more than five years at Google leading mobile and ad products for the Internet giant's Asia-Pacific region.

Nishar has been instrumental in growing LinkedIn's mobile business, which as become a crux of the professional social network's long-term business strategy.

As LinkedIn surpassed the 300 million member mark earlier this year, Nishar asserted "mobile is critical," going further to declare LinkedIn is now reaching its own "mobile moment."

"Already, our members in dozens of locations including Costa Rica, Malaysia, Singapore, Sweden, United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom, use LinkedIn more on their mobile devices than on their desktop computers," Nishar wrote in April. "Every day we see an average of 15 million profile views, 1.45 million job views and 44,000 job applications in over 200 countries through mobile."

UPDATE: A LinkedIn spokesperson followed up with a statement:

After nearly six years at the company, Deep Nishar, our SVP of Product, has decided to leave LinkedIn. During his time at LinkedIn, the member experience has been completely transformed and has become an integral part of a professional's day. Deep joined LinkedIn when we were slightly more than 30 million members and during his time at the company, the member base has grown tenfold to 313 million members around the world. With this departure, Jeff Weiner, our CEO will be taking on the role of overseeing the product organization indefinitely. We want to thank Deep for his many years of dedication and contributions to the company and wish him the best as he embarks on his next endeavor.
