MobileTechRoundup show #182, Moto CLIQ, ZuneHD, iPod nano, HP Envy

We missed recording last week due to the Mobilize 2009 event so MobileTechRoundup show #182 is a bit longer than normal as James, Kevin, and I chatted about mobile tech products. James and Kevin had a chance to play with the upcoming T-Mobile Motorola CLIQ Google Android device that will be tough for me to resist. I talked about my new Zune HD and iPod nano and then I learned about Opera 10's Turbo Mode on a PC. Opera Mini 5 beta is out for Java-enabled phones and adds some great new features, all for FREE. James also had a chance to swing by the HP offices and play with the new Envy notebooks that have features you may envy, but at a price you may not.

Review: T-Mobile HTC Touch Pro2 is a hefty device with a price to match

Review: T-Mobile HTC Touch Pro2 is a hefty device with a price to match

The T-Mobile HTC Touch Pro2 is definitely not a small pocketable device, but more of a portable computer with functions those in the business field may appreciate. The hardware is quite good, but I was left with the feeling that Android would have been much more enjoyable on it. As I wrote last week I went all in with T-Mobile and as a result had a line with full upgrade eligibility. I planned to wait until this week and purchase my own Touch Pro2, but left the store with a new Merlot myTouch 3G so let's go through the device and see why I didn't stick to my original plan.

Review: T-Mobile Dash 3G takes the Dash torch and runs with it

Review: T-Mobile Dash 3G takes the Dash torch and runs with it

This summer is a blockbuster season for touchscreen smartphones with the Palm Pre, iPhone 3GS, Nokia N97, HTC TouchPro2, and T-Mobile myPhone. However, not everyone is crazy about touchscreen devices and they just want a solid smartphone that gets the job done in a compact form factor that is easily operated with a single hand. One of the hottest selling smartphones ever for T-Mobile has been the T-Mobile Dash. I personally used this device for about a year and have given out a couple I had to family and coworkers who still enjoy using the Dash today. T-Mobile announced the Dash 3G a couple weeks ago and I have had the chance to spend the last week and a half evaluating one of them. Actually, T-Mobile may have a tough time getting this review unit back anytime soon :) You can check out product images and software screenshots in my image gallery along with a short video of it in action and my thoughts on the device below.
