In addition, Juniper Networks is a strong No. 2 to Cisco among telecommunication firms and enterprises. With video consumption set to explode, networking requirements will boom too.

Google reveals first Chromebooks
At the company’s developers conference in San Francisco, Google's Sundar Pichai announces the first Chromebook laptops. Samsung and Acer will each be offering machines starting June 15. The Samsung Chromebook will cost $429 for the Wi-Fi only version and $499 for the 3G version. Acer's Wi-Fi only Chromebook will cost $349.

Apple's iPhone 4 now on Verizon
At a press conference in New York City, Verizon announces Apple's iPhone 4 will be available on its network in early February. A 16GB model will cost $199.99 with a two-year contract and the 32GB model will sell for $299.99. An extra feature Verizon will offer is the ability to use the phone as a personal Wi-Fi "hot spot." Up to five Wi-Fi devices can connect to the Verizon iPhone at one time.
