Enterprise customers are 12 months to 24 months away from seriously adopting Vista, according to a Bank of America survey. Bank of America surveyed 1,200 large enterprise and small to medium sized businesses to gauge interest in Vista.
Microsoft's plan to sell multiple versions of Vista--Basic, Home Premium and Ultimate--may already be paying dividends. The company, which reported fiscal second quarter earnings and provided plenty of items to analyze, said last night that it expects premium versions of Vista to represent 60 percent of sales in fiscal year 2007 (SeekingAlpha transcript).
This just in--Vista is launching to consumers and the Web is buzzing with worries over how to upgrade (and whether those worries are legit), stories about demand and primers on killer apps and pitfalls. One common thread: Folks are pretty damn skeptical about Vista.
Intel CEO Paul Otellini said the chip giant isn't going to upgrade to Vista until it gets the first service pack from Microsoft. Speaking at the Bank of America Technology conference in San Francisco, Otellini was asked about his take on Vista and whether it could drive demand.
