The worldwide sales of PC cameras (also known as Webcams) have grown from 2.9 mln units in 1999 to 18 mln units in 2004, an average growth of 44% per year, according to IDC. IDC predicts there will be a $1.2 bln worldwide annual market for webcams in 2005. 124.3 mln homes worldwide had broadband Internet access at the end of 2004, up 47% from 2003.
