28 mln Internet users in Central and Eastern Europe by 2006

According to an August 2003 report from research firm IDC, Internet users in Central and Eastern Europe are due to number over 21.2 million by year-end and grow to 28.1 million by 2006. In Southeast Asia, Internet use is also on the rise. Internet users in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam are due to reach 47 million by 2006, showing a 24.5% compound annual growth rate from 2001 to 2006, according to a February 2003 report from IDC.
