US consumers bought 31.6 mln mobile phones in Q3 2005, shelling out more than $2 bln. That's 30% growth YTY and 7% growth QTQ. Motorola topped the list, selling 9.5 mln units for a 30% market share. LG, Nokia and Samsung each had 16% of the market, followed by Sanyo, 5%; Kyocera and Sony Ericsson, each 4%; UTStarcom/Audiovox, 3%; and Siemens/BenQ, 2%, The NPD Group said.
