States will lose to retail e-commerce and catalog sales in 2005 an estimated $4.41 bln in uncollected sales tax revenue, a figure that will grow to $6.84 bln by 2008, according to University of Tennessee. When factoring in B2B sales, the lost-tax-revenue figures rise to a range of $18 bln to $22.81 bln in 2005 and $21.54 bln to $33.68 bln by 2008.
