According to Wireless Services Corporation, 43% of all mobile phone text messages in the United States are now spam, compared to just 18% in 2004. In December alone this amounted to over 1.2 bln messages blocked by Wireless Services Corporation. The company runs the data networks transporting text messages for several carriers in North America and manages between 15 and 20% of all such traffic in the US.
