7% of VC money went into wireless companies in 2005

During 2005, 152 wireless-related companies received $1.3 bln in funding, a 24% increase over 2004's $1.1 bln. Wireless accounted for 7% of total VC investment in 2005. The bulk of telecom investment today (around 60%) is in wireless and related technology, including networking, infrastructure, semiconductors, mobile computing, content and services, visiongain reports.
