81.2 mln cell phone users in Brazil

According to Anatel, the total number of mobile customers in Brazil rose by 23.8% (15.6 mln) in Q1-Q3 2005, to reach 81.2 mln at the end of October 2005. Brasilcel (Vivo) held on to its #1 position with a 35.6% market share, with TIM Brasil in second place (23%) and Claro in third (21.8%). Telemig claimed 5.3% of the market at the same date, while Brasil Telecom GSM had 2.2%, CTBC had 0.45% and Sercomtel Celular had 0.11%, TeleGeograpy reports.
