According to National Automobile Dealers Association, 94% of the 22,000 dealers in the USA have Web sites, 25% of them coming online in the last 3 years. In 2005, dealers are drawing an average of nearly 230 monthly online prospects. That was almost twice the 116 monthly online prospects attracted in 2004. While few consumers actually complete their transactions entirely online, that number is creeping up. In June 2002, a typical dealer closed, on average, 4.9 sales entirely online. In June 2005, dealers closed 7.5 online sales.
