Airlines set up independent travel site

In what could be a major competitor to online travel services, United Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Northwest Airlines and Continental Airlines announced plans Tuesday to set up a travel Website that will offer online access to their inventory. The new site will also offer hotel, car rental and other travel services through deals with other companies.
