Alarm system targets mobile phone thieves

Mobile phone thieves are being targeted by an alarm system that will alert the public to their snatch and grab tactics. A cord wrapped around the user's wrist and attached to the alarm system on the phone at the other end completes a circuit which, when broken, lets out a 140 decibel shriek The Kobra alarm system was designed by London-based firm Allied Commercial Developments. London's Metropolitan Police are reported to be showing interest in the device, which it is hoped will prove a deterrent to the capital's growing bands of mobile phone thieves.
