Alcatel has launched a new development center in China, its third in the country.

Located in Shanghai’s Jinqiao Development Zone, the Asia Pacific Enterprise Engineering & Development Center will be responsible for the localization of Alcatel’s enterprise products targeted at the regional market. The products include enterprise telephony platforms, business phones and handsets, IP networking, and communication applications.

The center will also help Alcatel’s partners in the region to tailor enterprise applications that meet specific customers' needs, the company said in a statement.

The other two Asia-Pacific centers are the Research & Innovation Center in Shanghai, which was launched in December 2002, and the Optical Communications R&D Center in Chengdu, which was established in February 2003.
