Advanced Micro Devices Inc. is planning a summer chip blitz. Sources say the company will launch 10 new processors in June, possibly on the same day. The company will launch three Duron processors, aimed at the value PC market and seven new Athlon chips, based on its Thunderbird processor core. Sources say the Duron chips will range between 600MHz and 700MHz, while the Thunderbird chips will come it at 700MHz and range up to 1GHz (1,000MHz), sources said. The chips, which retain AMD's current 200MHz system bus and are currently being evaluated by evaluated by PC makers. -- John G. Spooner, ZDNet News
