American cars mandated to get greener

The Transportation Department just set federal MPG standards for the 2011 models sold in the U.S. Those requirements: 30.2 mpg for cars and for light trucks, 24.1 mpg. SUVs are still classed with the trucks.

Standards beyond 2011 are still being considered.
